Ten Planets in Elvis

there was a desert wind that kissed the rocks
it blew in temperatures made in sand
we counted ten planets in Elvis
we conjured up the Rio Grande

i saw the shaman shadow
i rode my bike in the milky way
smoked a cigarette in joshua tree sunday
threw a frisbee cuz i came to play

climb the rocks
climb the stairs
climb the night
into ursa major
climb the night
and wave to your friends
climb over Europe
into the wasteland
climb over Asia
and drown in LA
climb the place
where 66 rambled
the wind will come
and blow you away
the wind will come
and blow you away

pitch a tent next to the boulders
light a fire in a blackened cave
catch the stars in a coleman lantern
burn them all at a private rave

in the morning the east wind is hollow
the sun rises like a bandolier
all my dreams got stuck in Needles
for one minute i was happy here

climb the rocks
climb the stairs
climb the night
into ursa major
climb the night
and wave to your friends
climb over Europe
into the wasteland
climb over Asia
and drown in LA
climb the place
where 66 rambled
the wind will come
and blow you away
the wind will come
and blow you away

there was a desert wind that kissed the rocks
late at night at the rendezvous
we counted ten planets in the constellation of Elvis
we conjured up the Rio Grande

i saw the shaman shadow
i rode my bike in the milky way
smoked a cigarette in joshua tree sunday
threw a frisbee cuz i came to play
