Too Many Pets in Portland

(sung to the tune Deep in the Heart of Texas)

The doggies' poop, so much to scoop
Too many pets in Portland
It's not that cute, played for a dupe
Too many pets in Portland
The cats all vomit like stinking comets
Too many pets in Portland
Their fur spells doom, in my vacuum
Too many pets in Portland

The bushy squirrels are like cute girls
Too many pets in Portland
The cost of food is high and rude
Too many pets in Portland
Sometimes at night they start to fight
Too many pets in Portland
My wounds are deep, I cannot sleep
Too many pets in Portland!

**

p.s. Luna will howl along with you!

Did you know that you can read any poem by Emily Dickinson to the tune of Deep in the Heart of Texas?

Nice work, mjs!

Or was it Yellow Rose of Texas? I can never remember

I tried singing Deep in the Heart of Texas to a couple of Emily's poems--it kinda, sorta worked, so that was cool. Another item checked off on my bucket list.
