Autumn in Portland

Donna and I managed to get out of the house for a bit last Sunday--Chauncy is recovering from knee surgery, Phil is in a limbo between light and shadow, Luna and Rudy are forever young, and don't get me started about the cats. Anyway, Donna and I went out for around an hour last Sunday, walking around the Pearl District and then by the Tom McCall waterfront park. A glorious hour, full of chill and slanting rain, leaves cascading down from shivering trees, the sky painted in deepening grays and black. Life is glorious and sad, wonderful and filled with sorrow--I love it, for what else is there to do?

Thanks for reminding me how beautiful Portland can be in the autumn.
