From a Prime Buzz posting regarding the murder of Dr. George Tiller at the Lutheran church he attended in Wichita, Kansas comes this statement from the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue:
"We are shocked at this morning’s disturbing news that Mr. Tiller was gunned down. Operation Rescue has worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see him brought to justice. We denounce vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning. We pray for Mr. Tiller’s family that they will find comfort and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ."
"...comfort and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ." What strikes me about this statement is that, in the middle of a violent tragedy, the good people at Operation Rescue still manage to get in an authoritarian absolutism, just in case the blood-dripped stains on the floor of the church throw you off a bit.
Note: after Googling "Operation Rescue" I clicked on their website OperationRescue.org but the page that came up had a "403 Forbidden" statement. They may be getting a lot of hits today.
CNN has more.
