FOR PAUL KRUGMAN
Cassandra, doomed to be ignored
Plaintive made her case, implored
To guide us in a darkened hour
But often deaf are those in power
Cassandra, thank you for your works
Would that we weren’t run by jerks
So truculent, inciting fears
Awash in profits made from tears
Cassandra, what will save the state
When money takes the reins of fate?
When reason’s seen but as a ruse
So many profit without a truce
Cassandra, though you do divine
And see it all with heart and mind
Would that all of us could see
Cassandra, eyes of liberty

What can I say... I sympathize (empathize?) with Cassandra...
Here.
