GIANT MOTHERFUCKING SKUNKS ORGANIZING PART 2

The rest of this story has been written in the form of song lyrics. No, I don't write music. Yes, sometimes I have a melody.

AHEM:

The skunks were huge, enormous beasts
Rutting and squeaking at the river feast
Legends from some perverse tale
A tale from out of time
Some stories like a river get lost in time

I lay at the feet of the near-sighted ones
I thanked them for not wearing guns
They turned away and showed their glands
"Ah, I understand," I said
"I think I understand"

(Skunk chorus)
We came here from the mountains deep
Beneath the faults that crack the land
We came to the river to do our dance
Here beneath the moon
We dance beneath the moon
Before we go back to the mountains deep
Back to the mountains deep
Back to the places where legends sleep

Two of the skunks picked me up
And set me on the bank
They waddled back to the water's edge
And then the dance began
The giant skunk dance on the river began

They swayed and bent and rose on up
Their tails to the heavens waving so
Their darkened paws reaching out, out like a child's prayer
The skunks danced everywhere
Every where the river did run
The skunks danced on the water
And the water she did run

(Skunk chorus)
We came here from the mountains deep
Beneath the faults that crack the land
We came to the river to do our dance
Here beneath the moon
We dance beneath the moon
Before we go back to the mountains deep
Back to the mountains deep
Back to the places where legends sleep

A fog had wandered down to the low
Places where the water flowed
I looked about but could not see
Any of the giant skunks
They had gone back to the mountains deep

I left the river and walked on home
Feeling sad and so alone
What is a life spent far away
Deep in the earth where the legends play
Deep in the earth where the legends play

(Skunk chorus)
We came here from the mountains deep
Beneath the faults that crack the land
We came to the river to do our dance
Here beneath the moon
We dance beneath the moon
Before we go back to the mountains deep
Back to the mountains deep
Back to the places where legends sleep

Once on a road trip across the country, with a couple of friends in the 60's, we were 18, and driving at night in Arizona I think it was, on a desolate 2 lane, we saw this big rabbit (thats what we called them in Ohio), in the headlights, that had little antlers on its head, so we exclamed , did you see that? and we all did, and so lit another joint, and the next morning, in the local drug store I saw this postcard with a picture of that rabbit (with the antlers), and asked the cashier, are there alot of these things around here, because we almost ran over one last night, and I guess she thought we were crazy, because she burst out laughing like Ive never seen before, so after all these years I still have no explanation, for what happened, until now, and so feel okay about telling this story, cuz now I know I'm not the only one who sees these things. Do you know how to make postcards?
