She's Waiting for a Bus to Come

i saw a little old lady
siting on the bench
there was a sign for a bus
no one knows where that bus went
just like on a movie set
when the film is done
everybody moved along
everyone but one

she's waiting for a bus to come
can't remember why
saw some birds rising up
rising in the sky
fingers clutching fingers
she holds herself alone
its really hard to run away
when you cannot find your home

she watches children run along
school's done for another day
her eyes follow a little one
maybe she would like to play
when you open up the heart
and take a peak inside
you will find a place to live
where there's nothing left to hide

she got up and went back inside
the nurse helped her along
there was music on the overhead
it played forgotten songs
she sits down on her little bed
not sure just what to do
she wants to go back outside
and play in the afternoon

she's waiting for a bus to come
can't remember why
saw some birds rising up
rising in the sky
fingers clutching fingers
she holds herself alone
its really hard to run away
when you cannot find your home

i saw a little old lady
siting on the bench
there was a sign for a bus
no one knows where that bus went
just like on a movie set
when the film is done
everybody moved along
everyone but one

she watches children run along
school's done for another day
her eyes follow a little one
maybe she would like to play
when you open up the heart
and take a peak inside
you will find a place to live
where there's nothing left to hide
