if i articulated my arms
and covered them
in dense green fabric
if i renamed my eyes
just to see in silence
i might wake up and
my thoughts might grow roots
my veins to streams
my purpose unknown
but i will taste the earth
and i will hear the water falling
like dancers in their tumbles
as a tree i still love dancers
